31st May 2012: What a relief to have arrived in Eastbourne, fit and well, with only one blister, after hobbling into Winchester last year! However, this relief was short-lived, because on Tuesday, at my consultant appointment, I received my scan and blood results, which showed that the cancer has returned, in a very small way, in my liver.
To me, at this time, it is unbelievable, because I feel, and look so well - tanned from walking up on the South Downs, and still energetic enough to have gone straight into catching up with my gardening, and playing tennis with some friends yesterday.
My lovely oncologist, Aggie Michael, would like to commence chemotherapy again, but has agreed to let me have another month of feeling well, seeing as the spots in the liver are so tiny at the moment. Obviously, I will return to see her sooner if I get any symptoms. She will also work out the timing of my chemotherapy so that I am still able to Carry the Olympic Torch on 17th July! I will let everyone know when and where I do my 300 metres in Crowborough as soon as I am informed.
